WCP Virtual Championship
The WCP Virtual Championship is an exciting, season-long racing series that mirrors real-world
motorsports. From November through May, each school competes using professional-grade Trak
Racer simulators, racing virtual versions of the cars they're building in real life.
Competition Structure
Participants:
Each school selects a student driver for each race. No student may drive more than once during
the season (except for the finale), encouraging broader participation across the team.
Simulators:
Every school is equipped with a Trak Racer simulator featuring the car they are building in the
real world. This creates a direct connection between physical car design and virtual performance.
Simulator Coach:
To support this process, we have a dedicated Simulator Coach, Cody Schmitt. Cody works with
each school to prepare student racers for the monthly virtual races (November–May) by providing
guidance on strategy, practice routines, and simulator performance. He also helps ensure your
Trak Racer simulator runs smoothly throughout the school year. Contact Cody at
cody@winners-circle.org with any simulator or racing-related questions.
Race Calendar:
There are 7 virtual races, one per month from November to May. Each race takes place on a
different professional track and is broadcast live on the WCP YouTube channel with professional
sim-racing commentary.
Scoring and Points
WCP Championship Points (10 points max):
Race results across all 7 virtual events are used to determine how many of the 10 possible WCP
Championship points each team earns.
-
Only the top-performing team across all 7 races will earn the full 10 points.
-
Other teams will earn a scaled number of points based on how close they are to the top team’s total score.
-
Each race carries a different weight depending on the track difficulty and event conditions, making every race a unique challenge
-
Consistency matters: a team might win one race but fall behind overall if their performance drops in others.
This cumulative, performance-based scoring system rewards teams that demonstrate skill,
strategy, and steady improvement over the entire season.
